Hello my name is Tom. I am the founder of FreelancingProjects.com. For most of my life I worked as a stationary engineer, but as short as 4 years ago, I jumped into the Computer field. In a short period of time, I went from being an employee to running my own one-person consulting business; everyone was doing it in 2000. As an employee, I've always looked for means to further develop my skills and earn extra cash by working in my off time on side projects, basically moonlighting. Also, as a business operator, I learned you can go crazy trying to learn(do) everything associated with building fast-paced applications from start to finish. So, I've always been looking for skilled people to team up with, so I can concentrate on my strongest computer skills and produce overlapping client work.

I managed to be successful in most of my ventures, but I've heard many sad stories about fellow small business owners not finding experienced subcontractors since most small contractors took steady jobs to get through the current bad economy. Plus I stay in contact with a few out-of-work application developers trying to network and find small contracts to get some type of income. Well, trying to be helpful, I went looking for some on-line tools for bringing clients, or small business owners, in contact with skilled people, and didn't find many "no-cost" options. Only quality sites on the web seem to take some cut in the transactions, or charge up-front fees. This fee basis bothered me since it could minimize the good people posting their services on the web.

Well then I thought about coming up with my own site that anyone could register, and use the services of this Site, for free.
